Local Government Stops All Email Attacks and Stops Losing Legitimate Email February 1, 2010 – Sendio, Inc., developer of the only email system protection solution to utilize self-managing email communities which totally eliminate attacks and abuse, today announced that the City of Lincoln, Nebraska, is now saving 25% of an IT staff person’s time after replacing a Trend Micro email filter with Sendio Email System Protection. After the deployment, the local government of the state capital of Nebraska saw a 40-hour-per-month reduction in IT staff maintenance time, while also eliminating an estimated 500,000 dangerous “junk” email messages that were previously reaching user inboxes. In addition, IT staff no longer need to comb through “spam” folders to rescue an average of 100 valid emails that were mistakenly lost each month. “Email is considered a vital part of our communications with both outside partners and vendors,” said Jeff Jones, network supervisor for the city. “Before deploying Sendio, our 3,000 email users were being inundated with unwanted email while still losing legitimate messages to junk folders. A shortcoming of the previous anti-spam system meant we weren’t able to enable any end-user functionality which created a serious ‘false positive’ problem for us, as well as a number of security concerns. But with Sendio, virtually all of the problems we were having in the past have been eliminated, and the solution’s powerful user interface means our users finally have control over their inboxes. It is a product we couldn’t live without.” Sendio allowed the city to assemble secure email communities that were unique to the organization and individual email users. Messages from trusted senders within the community are delivered, while junk messages from invalid sources are blocked. With Sendio in place, the city has eliminated unwanted junk and attack email completely.
