The Sendio I.C.E. Box server is available in two distinct hardware platforms. The first is the Mark V, which is typically recommended for businesses with less than 1000 users. For companies with over 1000 users, or smaller businesses with users that receive very high volumes of email, the Mark C is recommended. Below is a comparison table for more information on what differentiates the two.

Services Licensing:

The Sendio I.C.E. Box is sold as a hardware appliance in conjunction with a software license pack. License packs are issued based on number of users. Included in this license pack is:

• Kaspersky A/V engine and updates
• Commtouch ZeroHour engine and updates
• Technical Support
• Regular Sendio software updates with new features and benefits

Installation of the I.C.E. Box:

The I.C.E. Box is a secure network appliance that can be placed anywhere in a network infrastructure so long as the email flow runs through the I.C.E. Box before arriving at the mail server (MTA). Below is just one typical architecture. The I.C.E. Box can also be placed in the DMZ. In larger deployments, the I.C.E. Box can be placed in series in front of existing anti-spam systems to further ease installation.

The I.C.E. Box is installed "logically" between the Internet and one or more email servers (e.g. MS Exchange or Lotus Notes). The corporate MX (Mail eXchange) record in DNS is set to point to the I.C.E. Box, allowing all email from the Internet to be routed to the I.C.E. Box. The I.C.E. Box receives the messages, processing them through a series of email security services, eliminating the unwanted messages, and forwarding the remaining email to the server(s) for delivery.

Pricing Notes:

• The Mark V server is recommended for environments up to 1,000 users, depending on incoming and outgoing message rates
• The Mark C server is recommended for environments over 1,000 users, and may be appropriate for environments as small as 500 users that high peak traffic loads
• A Cluster Server configuration requires two Standard Servers (either SIBV or SIBC, but not a mix) and the SIBX-HA Cluster Server Set-Up.
• I.C.E. Box Servers come with a one (1) year hardware warranty. Additional limited hardware warranty must be purchase before the expiration of the current warranty term.
